I am trying to install FreeBSD 2.1.6 on an IBM ValuePoint 466DX.

Whenever I boot into FreeBSD, whether its from the installation
boot floppy or the installed OS, I find that hitting the
CAPSLOCK will hang the active session. I can still access the
machine through a telnet session from another host, but I am
unable to do anything at the keyboard attached directly to
the machine.

I have seen this on two separate ValuePoint machines, so I am
inclined to believe that FreeBSD is not communicating correctly
with the ValuePoint BIOS. This problem does not occur under
Dos, Windows, or OS/2.

Has anyone else seen this problem, or is anyone aware of IBM
bios levels specifically supported by FreeBSD?

thanks...

-j
