   Macintosh isn't _that_ special-

   PC's take PC ISA bus cards, which are available in async speeds through
   230Kbs, and can also accept _sync_ serial cards at similar speeds.

I knew I was excluding cards.  See my recent other post regarding
"faster serial card" stuff.
