You're making Bill's point for him.  It is far easier for a mass-market OS to
move into the vertical markets than it is for a specialized OS to move out to
the mass markets.  The reason is product identification -- no one in the mass
market will recognize the value of a UNIX word processor over MS-Word, but the
vertical market people will recognize the value of a vertical market product
that works well on a mass-market OS.
