Unix doesn't have applications??? What are you talking about?
Do you mean Linux doesn't have any applications?

The Open Systems Software Directory lists nearly 10,000 applications.
Sun's Catalyst catalog lists over 12,000 applications.

There's plenty of applications for Unix.
