Uh-oh.  You have dd'ed them onto the disk?  Better use disklabel -B.

If you fear that you render your disk unbootable, save a copy of your
old bootblocks on your fixit floppy before.  So if things fail, you
can boot install + fixit, and restore the old bootblocks (again, using
disklabel -B, but you might need the -b and -s options then).
