G'day,
      I have recently installed a 3.0-970114-SNAP on a Toshiba 110CS. I
chose this particular snap as it came with builtin support for PCMCIA cards
and APM (power management) but you can get these features in the
2.2-RELEASE that will be available soon.

I let the Toshiba install something called dos-6.22 and windows-3.11 when
it asked me at first power up because I was worried about system setup (and
I know nothing about the alternative microsloth OS available). It turns
out that there is a program called tsetup.exe which can configure the
system (it gives you access to the BIOS) and I run it with the rodent set
for simultaneous mode.

Enclosed is a kernel configuration file and an XF86Config file (XFree86
3.2) in uuencoded form. With the 3.0 snap release, I find that after I
rebuild a kernel, I need to use the "-c" boot and manually enable the psm
rodent driver (conflicts with sc0) and also enable the apm driver. If you
find that your rodent seems to lock up the keyboard when you first try it
(with the psm0 device enabled), try running some microsloth stuff and then
try FreeBSD/X again (this has happened only once and I'm not sure if I was
just doing something silly elsewhere).

If you use FIPS to carve up your disk, don't forget that the defrag command
needs a switch so that it can move "system" and "invisible" files. Let me
know how you go.

Good luck,
phillip
