I am planning to put FreeBSD on my system tomorrow. I need to know what
packages to download overnight. I have looked in the 2.1.6 packages
directory and it seems that I can download most everything except the
Chinese, Japanese, and Russian stuff - which I don't need. However, I
have been looking at the X11 stuff and I don't see the servers (SVGA in
particular) listed in the packages. Should I download that from one of
the other directories in the tree (X11R6) and if so, where should I put
this if I am going to install from a DOS partition? I would like to
download as much as possible to get this up and running with a minimal of
post install effort.

I am familiar with LINUX. I am currently using RedHat 4.0. I am
beginning to work with socket programming using 4.4BSD. I assume that
FreeBSD is better suited for this, not to mention it really seems to be a
better UNIX.

Please, any guidance would be helpful. I have read as much of the
documentation online as I can find (README.TXT, INSTALL.TXT and manual
stuff).

Thank you,
