Check out <5cgfg1$jgf@cynic.portal.ca> in this very group. I notice
that nobody's bothered to reply to any of the points I make in it.

That is not the case in any of the Linux code I've looked at.

I think the performance it really affects is that of the programmers.
I've wondered in the past why NetBSD and GNU/Linux seem to progress
at the same rate, despite GNU/Linux seeming to have many more
developers. I suspect it's because the code for NetBSD is much
better written, thereby reducing code duplication and providing a
better base for future development.
