Hi,
 I'm running XFree86 3.2 installed from the FreeBSD 2.1.6-R CD-ROM,
and am trying to get an XSecurity feature to work. Namely, I want a
".Xauthority" file written than I can then transfer to other
locations.

>from "man XServer":

       -auth authorization-file
Specifies a file which contains a collection of
authorization records used to authenticate access.
See also the xdm and Xsecurity manual pages.

There is no system xserverrc file:
% pwd
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit
% ls -lta
total 6
drwxrwxr-x 28 root wheel 1024 Jan 24 17:11 ../
drwxr-xr-x 2 root wheel 512 Jan 16 19:50 ./
-r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 666 Oct 24 02:54 xinitrc

The .Xauthority file is never created when I start up X-Windows as
follows: (or when I create a .xserverrc to do the same thing).

% xinit $HOME/.xinitrc -- :0 -auth $HOME/.Xauthority
