   I used disk partitions of sds1e etc and then mounted the ccd 
as ccd0e. fsck works no problem, after I got over the idea of
running fsck on it in the first place :)

   Its a news box and has the worst possible disks (Quantum Fireball)
so I am forced to run fsck on it sometimes.
