Yes, more development in some areas. But not in others. NetBSD runs
on and uses a lot of hardware that Linux doesn't. (VAX 11, DECStation,
turbochannel bus, etc.) NetBSD also appears to share more drivers
amongst different systems than Linux does.

I am doubtful that a particularly large proportion of users are
forced to one or the other due to some piece of hardware, though
I have little evidence of this.
