In other words, you tried to use NFS performance benchmarks to
compare Linux and FreeBSD without knowledge of controller, bus
type or network card on the Linux server. That spells
 "clueless" to me.

I have an experience with all those systems, you idiot. Memory
transfer rates on even older Sun hardware noticeably exceed
 those on even latest PCs.

]Actually, I've done a lot of benchmarking on various systems running
]NetBSD, and it certainly is possible to make meaningful comparisons
]between these sorts of systems.

It is not, however, possible to make meaningless comparisons between
Linux running on PC and FreeBSD on workstations. So your previous
 post has been idiotic blathering.

] I suggest you go out and get a pile
]of systems, controllers and SCSI drives, do some benchmarking on
]various combinations of them, and learn whereof you speak.

I will make sure to call on you next time I need free advice on what I
should do. Intil then, you can kindly keep your advice to yourself.
You chose to speak up on Linux vs FreeBSD performance - it is up to you
to show that you know what you are talking about.
