Linux can mount VFAT used by Windows 95 and VFAT32 is
in alpha. I am not sure if xxxBSD can do that.

I think both Linux and xxxBSD are very good. I just
happen to like Linux. Linux has SMP and real kernel
based pthread. We also have MMX in our assembler,
although xxxBSD can get it too. But NFS in xxxBSD is
better.
