This is true; for both Linux and FreeBSD you should think twice before
buying some piece of hardware. Neither has the universal driver
support that Windows has, but indeed Linux supports more.
On the other hand:
- If you just check the hardware compatability for FreeBSD you can
also use all common kinds of hardware.
- I like FreeBSD so much better than Linux that I found it worth to
sell my ISDN internal card and buy an external TA instead (which
needs no special support from the OS at all).
