Hi,

I'm experiencing major difficulties since I've installed netbsd 1.2 on my amiga.

1) While installing the files, I get unpredictable kernel panics.
Even flushing the filesystems like a mad (very often) in another shell can't prevent
it. This makes it nearly impossible for me to install netbsd at all (see 2)

2) When netbsd crashes (i.g. kernel panic or simply freezes) I do have to reset the computer
But doing this results in a MASSIVE LOSS of files/dirs on my mounted netbsd partitions
which usually makes the system unusable => have to install everything again..
but this takes at least 5-10 attempts.

So, as you can imagine I'm quite frustrated with 1.2 .. 1.1 worked much better and I will
switch back again now because my partitions just got scrambled again.

I do have my /usr partition on another drive than my /root and /usr/src but the kernel
panics also occur if I dont even mount the second drive.

Can anybody help ? (when you respond, please send me also an email so I don't miss your
posting in this newsgroup)

My hardware :

Amiga 4000/40
20 MB fast, 2 MB chip
CyberVision 64
80MB + 1 GB IDE Harddisks
fastlane z3 with scsi cdrom
