Hi,
I'm trying to install BSD/OS v2.1 on a machine on our existing
network. It doesn't have a CDROM so I'm trying to use the remote
install option. So far with no success.
What I need to know is what that correct format for the
rhosts file is. The BSD/OS manual says it should contain the IP
address of the new host. But doing a "man rsh" shows that the
hostname should be in the .rhosts file. I've tried both ways and all
the combinations I could think of for the .rhosts file with no
success. The .rhosts file does have the proper permissions as both
the manual and man pages say it should.
The error I keep getting is something llike the remote
computer has to trust this local machine, make sure that this local
host is in the .rhosts file on the remote computer. It than tells me
where I can find the .rhosts file (ie. /root/.rhosts) for the user
root on the remote machine. I've modified that file as well the
rhosts file for a regular user on the remote host but haven't had any
success.
If anyone has done this successfully I would be greatly
thankfull if you could let me know how you did it or what I'm doing
wrong.

					Thanks,
					Shane
