Right now my NeXT does this nifty little trick that I would like to
know if I can do with my FreeBSD box. With removable SCSI media
(e.g. CDs, Zip disks, etc.) when one is inserted in the apropriate
drive it is mounted at the root level automagically. This is nice
because it allows me to simply insert the disk that I want to use and
not have to manipulate anything like mount. And to remove the disk I
simply drag it to the NeXT recycler (yes, I know, very mac-like). I'm
reasonably sure that Solaris as some kind of similar function wrt
mounting CDs.

Is something like this possible with the existing FreeBSD SCSI drivers
(I'm assuming that something like this has to occur at the driver
level)? Can I do this with my Zip drive? It would be nice to simply
insert a disk and have it usable straight away. Some form of an eject
command that would unmount and then eject the disk in question.

Does such a beast exist? Enquiring minds want to know.
