We can't upgrade "as" because we would lose our support for shared
libraries. If you need gcc 2.7.2(.1), either compile it yourself (with some
patches you'll find in the FreeBSD lists archives to remove "weak" support)
or wait for 2.2-RELEASE which includes gcc 2.7.2.1.
