From what I can see, having an ifconfig_tun0 line in /etc/sysconfig
is bogus, but a necessary evil if your ppp.conf says "ifaddr 0/0 .....".

The correct solution is to have (say) "ifaddr 127.0.1.1/0 ...."
instead - so that ppp can set up a route (0/0 is a bum address).

I'm not sure where this idea of having "ifaddr 0/0 ...." came from :(
