Subject: need advice for using an Adaptec 1542B
Lines: 17

Hello -- Could someone help me on this?
1. After I put an Adaptec 1542B into my PC, when booting, I always
   get the following messages:
   Drive C: Already Installed
Checking for SCSI Target 0 LUN 0
then wait for a couple of minutes, no matter if there is any SCSI
device attached to the adaptec or not.
Is that normal? Is that too long? Is there any way to shorten it?
2. Now I want to attach a CD-ROM drive and a tape drive onto the
adapter. After the machine boots up with 386bsd, do I need to
do anything, e.g. mknod, to make the CD-ROM and tape drives
available? If so, where can I get some instructions?
Thanks in advance!
