FreeBSD does *NOT* put anything in /usr/local. Only the optional
packages (the ones from the ports collection) are installed
in /usr/local. /usr/local is the right place for "local"
additions. "make world" does not touch /usr/local, except I
think it tries to create it if it does not already exist.
