Why we?  Nope.  We aren't the only people writing code here... we are
merely organizing the whole game, you must be confusing this.  When
writing code, we are in the same boat as any other developer who's got
commit privileges.  It's only an incident that 100 % of the core team
members are also committers.  (Perhaps not so... but you've got the
picture.)

We accept any patches to extend netboot's are to other ethernet cards,
most preferrably if sent using send-pr.
