Has anyone so far been able to compile FreeBSD 2.1.6 with gcc 2.7.2.1
with -O2?  I've compiled a subset of it that we use as a device driver
layer of our experimental OS (SPIN http://www-spin.cs.washington.edu),
and was able to boot it on pentiums without a problem, but not on our
486-50.

Just curious.
