Hello!

Is anyone out there who has managed to get an 800x600 Xserver running
with NetBSD/i386 current and XFree86 3.2? I played arround with
XF86Setup and xf96config - but I only get 640x480 running. The "best"
result was with

Modeline "800x600" 40 800 840 968 1056 600 601 605 628 +hsync +vsync

using the XF86_SVGA Xserver like suggested in README.chips (the Toshiba
Tecra 500CDT is using the chips & technologies 65550 gfx chip).

But the display is awfully flickering, e.g. not useable.

My biggest problem is that one has to choose a monitor definition - but
the Toshiba Tecra 500CDT is a notebook with TFT LCD display which uses
different (e.g. lower) mode clocks.

With Windows95 I get 800x600 running without problems - the LCD is
designed for 800x600@24bit - so it should be possible - but I don't know
enough about the Modeline magick...

Thanx for any help in advance!

Greets
      Thorsten
