Hello all
I wonder if any one can help. I have installed FreeBSD 2.1.5 on
a DX/2 66 PC (Cyrix chip ? mother board DTK badged clone) I have 2 hd' 1
850mb Western digital and 1 210mb Western digital. 850mb is totaly
dos/windows 3.1 and 210 is totaly BSD. As the system bios dosn't
recognise HD's above 540 mb there is a disk driver that loads to allow
dos to use the whole 850mb. This driver also needs to be loaded first if
you boot from floppy, so theres about 5 sec to hit the spacebar after
the displayed msg to boot from floppy before the system boots from HD (I
hope this is making sense) Both drives are on the primary IDE port. I
have installed BSD boot manager which gives me the option

F1 - DOS
F5 - Disk 2

Default ?

on pressing F5 i get

F1 - BSD
F5 - Disk 1

Default ?

pressing F1 boots BSD (eventualy cos i still havn't got round to
customising the Kernal yet. However when i finish with BSD and either re
boot or switch off and turn the PC back on a couple of days latter. if I
boot DOS (First F1 or just let it default) The Western digital disk
manager insists I want to boot from floppy. If i boot from DOS floppy,
everytime I boot DOS it keeps asking for the boot floppy. If i give it a
non bootable disk. It loads from the HD and works fine till I boot BSD
again.
Any ideas - I could live with it but its just plain anoying!!

Cheers in advance
Glenn
