It makes a real difference. I can see the difference in the statistics reported by "netstat -s": the number of retransmits is *way* down. This was actually the first time that I'd used the SunSolve web site. I'm rather impressed with how easy it was to locate the bug that I sought, and to find the corrective patches. The patches are also very clear on what prerequisites exist. Also, the web site supports a "shopping cart" mechanism. You can accumulate the documents and patches that you want to download, and then do so as a single batch when you're done. You can also request notifications when things change.
