Solaris had big problems until recently, especially when you had slow
lines in the way. Sun have released Solaris 2.5.1 patches to fix all of this
and the end result seems very very mich better. See sunsolve.

From measurements here 4.4lite TCP/IP is better than 4.3. Also the slightly
tuned 4.4lite and the other changes in FreeBSD make it much faster than a
standard 4.4lite setup.
