My tape drive (Sytron Corp., Wangtech compatible) does not recognize write
density commands at all, only the tape length matter.
600 ft tapes can hold up to 120 MBytes, 620 tapes - 150 MBytes, etc.

Drives are rather old, so I'm afraid it will be difficult to get any
detailed tech docs.
