   I have a tiawan-special (no-brand-name) motherboard with an
AMD K%x586 133 mHz cpu. Had no trouble with FreeBSD on it and it
is now running Linux, while I have FreeBSD running on a Cyrix-686
120 mHz P150+.

I haven't had any reason to try to run Windoze, but FreeBSD and
Linux certainly are fast on the Amd K5. FreeBSD kernel compiles in
around 14 minutes.

At work, I use 2.1.5R to run INN on a Dec Prioris Pentium 150 mHz,
on which a kernel compile runs in very close to 8 minutes. On my
Cyrix-686 120 mHz at home, a kernel compile finishes in very close to
7 minutes, and thats with extras like SoundBlaster, and IDE.

I'm impressed :-) And I'm PC compatible without supporting Intel
or Microsoft :-]
