It should be in /usr/lib.  Did you install the GNU stuff?  
If not, you should.

This problem has been mentioned here before.  A mistake was made when
building xemacs, linking it dynamically to the Motif libs (which you
don't have and can't get without paying for them).

Download the latest version of the xemacs package, or rebuild it from
the ports collection.

Add "set timeout 0" to the end of your ppp.conf.
