Thats not too hard, look at the book titled The Robot Builders Bonanza...
it show a circuit to wire up devices to the paralell  port of a PC.  Now,
just write a little file to
open this parallel device and read the eigth bits off of the port.
Sensor -> ANALOG -> A/D converter-> Parallel port->application.
Its a great book for the hobbyist,
