As a followup to my own post, of sio1 on the modem not being seen
sometimes on bootup. The fix was to add some delays to the probe
code of the sio driver.  Apparently some serial ports are sensitive
to timing.

The addition of DELAY(1000) after tests  4, 5 and 6 and the info
on timing was suggested by Mark VandeWettering <markv@pixar.com>
