There are several GOOD shareware programs out there that allow you to print directly to network printers and to BSDish lpd's as well. One of the ones we use here is "Windows LPR Spooler" (email th.heil@kfa-juelich.de). It also comes with a JetDirect driver for HP laserjets. : Well, BSD UNIX supports lpr/lpd. System V has it's own whacked out printer : system. (Though some commercial system V implementations may include : support for lpr/lpd as an option.) Solaris allows SystemV or BSDish ... but you are right, System V is whacked. Karl
