: I am using a solution by Charles Mott (cmott@srv.net).
: It consists of a set of patches to the user mode ppp. It is very well
: thought out, and works for telnet, ftp, www, ping, traceroute,
: and every thing else that I have tried. It is totally transparent
: requiring no configuration.

Yep - that's why I mentioned it ;)

: The install instructions are *very* clear and straightforward.
: I am extremely pleased with this solution.
:
: I would like to see this code included in the FreeBSD base
: distribution. Linux has this functionality in it's base distribution,
: although in looking at the docs it doesn't appear to be as easy to
: use.
:
: Is there a good reason not to include this in the FreeBSD
: distribution?
:
: Is it missing some functionality that I am not aware of ?

I havn't used this code myself, but I would think that it should be
integrated assuming that NAT is not the default behaviour. I don't
know if Charles has submitted the code though.
