appologies if the newsgroup choice is inappropriate, but other than
c.u.b.n.announce, this is the only netbsd group my server receives.

I've been trying to install netbsd on a MacTV (68030, and specifically
listed as compatable with release 1.2), on a Zip 100 on SCSI 6
(formatted A/UX 3.X with SCSIDirector (3.0.7?))
Everything works fine using Mkfs, but the Intall Utility 1.1 fails to
work.
On installation, I can get the netbsd portion in place, but when trying
to install base12, the installer fails with a type 1 (?) error, running
sys 7.5.5 with extensions off. I don't believe the file to be
corrupted, as it will lock up at different files during the process
(sometimes later than where it crashed during a previous attempt). I've
also tried booting from 7.5, and from both external (scsi ID5) and
internal drives.

What, if anything, can I do to try to solve this problem? Quit the
finder, so *nothing* is running but the installer? Is there a problem
with drivers installed by SCSI director?

any help appreciated.

thanks,
-Jim
