ODBC defines the call level interface for applications to 
comunicate with dbms's, not the network interface so may not be to 
usefull at this level.

If the dbms you are trying to connect to is sybase or microsoft 
sql-server you may have some luck with the lynix port of sybase's open 
client found at http://www.sybase.com. Havent tried this myself but maybe 
worth a shot....
