I installed FreeBSD for the first time the other day, including telling the
setup program to install the boot manager. I later formated the partition to
get rid of FreeBSD (I'll tackle it again later when I have more time to read
up on it first).

The problem I have now, is that I can not get rid of the boot manager code.
I tried fdisk'ing and formating the disk, that didn't work. So then I found an
option in the "install" program to remove the boot manager, but that didn't
work either.

Does anyone know how I can rid of the boot manager code?

FWIW: I bought a CD with FreeBSD (I know my son hassled me for paying for a
free OS), the "installation" program I refered to was on the disk, I don't
have a clue if it is part of FreeBSD or if it was specific to this CD.

I realize now that I need to do a lot of reading about FreeBSD before I tackle
it again.

  Thanks for the help,
