Try as I may to find the answer to my warning message, I have come up empty!
I'm installing FreeBSD 2.1.5 August 1996 release from a 2-cdrom set. The mother-board is an ASUS P/I-XP55T2P4, the computer a 166Mhz Pentium. The ether adapter a 3Com 3C590, not 3C509. I recieve this warning message at boot-time, and findthat clients, such as ftp;telnet, run amusingly sloooow. At times, the network card doesn't work at all! I thought that maybe the source code for the stable
versions of 2.1.5 would remedy this situation. However, my tweaking skills
aren't quite up to the challenge :(. Has anyone the patch for the if_vx.c
found in /usr/src/sys/pci ?? Thanks. Eric Lesniewski
