If you let a BSDI hard drive go over 90% it is going to optimize
for space rather than speed.

If you turn down your expire so you have more room and less directory
space, you'll find that other expires take shorter times to run
(the first will really be a b****)

move your /var/news/etc off onto your /var/partition, that way your
etc/history/active stuff will be running off of a different drive than
the news.

I'd suggest you mount that /tmp dir on your /var as well, using the
memory for better stuff.

Maybe you need to restart your innd so that it can properly work right,
or maybe your innd is already throttled by innwatch.

Take your time now to look at each problem very carefully. Taking the
time now will save you later. Expect to spend alot of time tuning
your news server. Hope and pray that you get it right quickly and
can leave it alone for weeks at a time.

Don't try to make some perfectly fast machine, work on making it
perfectly stable instead.

Re-compile your INN software after learning about BSDI and the INN code.

Good Luck.
