Sorry to respond to this; I am getting really sick of these things.

Well...um, no, actually it's because some people are stupid, inconsiderate
jerks who think they can make fast, easy money.

That is because it _is_ a scam. Also, anyone who posts one of these messages
from AOL (or most other providers) will have his or her account terminated.
Count on it. Every one of these posts finds perhaps a few gullible people,
but far more annoyed people here in alt.music.a-cappella or other places where
they don't want to see spam, and who therefore forward the names of the
spammers to fun organizations and people who you don't want to deal with,
like: The U.S. Postal Inspector, the IRS, and the postmaster at the spammer's
internet provider.

Well, your address is located in the United States, so I can say for a fact
that it is purely and completely illegal.

5000 people X 250 posts each = 1,250,000 posts. To something like 19,000
newsgroups (your own number). Doesn't sound very realistic to me.

That is one of the most ridiculous things I ever heard. There is absolutely
no way for people down the line to know that you cheated and therefore send
you no money.

> TRY IT AND YOU'LL BE HAPPY!!! :o) !!!!!!!!!!

Try it and you will:
1) Be in trouble with the law- using the U.S. Postal Service for a pyramid
scheme (and don't be fooled by what these people say they are or aren't
called- it is a pyramid scheme, pure and simple) is a federal crime.
2) Receive a LOT of angry email, so much your mailbox will be completely
flooded.
3) Have your internet service provider terminate your account.
4) Receive a lot of angry letters in the mail- some internet users are really
annoyed by this sort of thing.
5) Be out $5.
