Disclaimers:

	1. I'm already using FreeBSD. It rocks.
	2. I already own both the 3COM and SMC card. I'm not looking
	   for a purchase recommendation.

My FreeBSD box is already using the SMC card. I haven't tried using
the 3COM in a while, but last time I tried our Cisco Catalyst 5000
switch supervisor card didn't like to speak 100Mb/s to it. :-(

Now its using a different switch, and I'm wondering if I should try
the 3C595 again. The machine is a NNTP server, averaging 7-10Mb/s
(rare peaks to 16Mb/s) and averages 2,100 packets/second combined in
and out. Any ideas if the device driver for 2.1.5-RELEASE or the
2.2-SNAPs would work better in that situation for one card or the
other?
