I think you've got a real problem here... you can't do this directly
from a DOS partition, due to the 8+3 filename limitation.  You can
however copy it from the DOS partition somewhere into the Unix
filesystem (e.g. under /tmp), rename the files there to their original
names, and continue.  Alternatively, better install ports only from
within a running Unix system, bypassing the DOS filesystem entirely.
