I compiled emacs-19.34b well for the following configuration:
Configured for `i386-pc-bsdi2.1'.

Where should the build process find the source code? /Users/heiko/tmp/emacs-19.34
What operating system and machine description files should Emacs use?
        `s/bsdos2-1.h' and `m/intel386.h'
What compiler should emacs be built with? gcc -g -O
Should Emacs use the GNU version of malloc? yes
Should Emacs use the relocating allocator for buffers? yes
What window system should Emacs use? x11
What toolkit should Emacs use? LUCID
Where do we find X Windows header files? /usr/X11R6/include
Where do we find X Windows libraries? /usr/X11R6/lib

The terminal based version runs fine, but if I try emacs with a X-display,
I get the following errors and the emacs terminates.

Warning: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
Warning: X locale modifiers not supported, using default
X protocol error: BadAtom on protocol request 18

Any hints ?
