Does anyone know why gnutar and the fd-device won't cooperate on
making multi-volume archives on my FreeBSD system (a recent snapshot
kernel)? I looks like tar never receives an "end of media" message, so
it tries to write beyond the last floppy-block.

I'm doing the same operation regularly on other systems, where it
works well.

Thanks,
