Most of this aliasing stuff is normally done by DNS CNAME's, thus no
matter of your FreeBSD machine.  Just name it `somename.mydomain.com',
and get the remainder in the DNS setup.

There's just one thing where you should teach your machine about its
aliases though: the Cw entries in the sendmail configuration file.

I suggest you getting a good book about administering an Internet
server.  I think O'Reilly publishes one that would be suited, but i
don't have the name handy.  It covers the basic things for all the
usual services like DNS, sendmail etc.  (Probably ``Managing TCP/IP'',
but i'm not sure.)

Sorry, Usenet cannot replace a 200-page book.  The possible
consequences of making mistakes in a nameserver or mailer setup are
too dangerous for the Internet community to even try such a crash
course here.
