The HP 4080i drive is an OEM version of the Philips CDD2000. I spoke
with some 
engineers at HP (about a SCSI CDR chip we make) and they indicated the
only 
differences were in the software that was bundled with the drive. I
don't know
for sure about the Kodak drive. I have never seen one to compare to the
CDD2000 
that is pieces in my office...
