I'm using an Adaptec 1540/1542C and an Archive Python 4330 with
FreeBSD 2.1.0 in a Micron PCI 486/66.
It seems to work intermittently.
I'm getting error messages such as the following when I use tar or
dump:

st0(aha0:1:0): Hardware failure asc 44,0 internal failure

My settings on the Adaptec card are:

IRQ 11, DMA 5, 334-337h
Termination installed, disable floppy, BIOS disable.
In the advanced SCSI settings I've lowered the speed to 3

Any help appreciated. Also, would the 2940/U/UW be a more stable
choice?

Thanks,
Julie Schneider
