Hello all, I am trying to set up my freebsd machine to respond to two different names as a web server. I am using FreeBSD 2.1.5-Release and Apache 1.1 I set up the httpd.conf file with the required lines to add a virtual host and I set up name service accordingly. I can manually do ifconfig fxp0 x.y.z.200 alias netmask 0xffffffff and it sets things up on the network for me. A few small problems. First off, I wasn't able to access any of the web pages under the new name and second, I lost access to the entire name with it's aliases after a few moments. (Ie, when I first set it up I could ping the new machine name and all it's aliases - Now, I get nothing except a message saying that the host is down.) Any suggestions, comments, or obvious mistakes in my thinking, please e-mail me. I really need this to work.... :) I'm sure I screwed up something obvious and simple, I just can't think of what....
