I posted the following a day or two ago, for someone who wanted to use 2
3C509's.

Procedure:

a) Put one ethernet card in the machine at a time, configure each one
seperately with the setup disk supplied by the manufacturer (most of
these setup programs can't handle 2 of the same type of ethernet cards
in the machine at the same time).
b) Once done, put both cards back in the box together.
c) Duplicate the single ep0 line in the kernel config, make it ep1,
adjust the values accordingly for the differnet IRQ etc of the second
   card.
d) Build your kernel, reboot and hopefully it'll find them as ep0 and
ep1 and you have yourself one ethernet to ethernet router.

(Maybe someone would like to put the above in the FAQ/handbook, whatever).
