Hello.

I recently upgraded from Linux to FreeBSD (Please, I don't CARE which is
the better OS).

I am currently running 2.2-960801-SNAP, compiled with some of my own
options.

I have noticed that either something is wrong with my configurations, or
the Linux emulation team REALLY deserves congratulations! When I execute
a program under FreeBSD (anything from Telnet to sendmail to pine), it
takes what seems to be too much time to load. But, if I run a Linux
binary, using Linux emulation, it loads back up.

For instance, the Linux binary of pine takes about 2-3 seconds to load
(Max), while the BSD version (pine 3.95 compiled as NetBSD) takes
anywhere from 30-45 seconds. Obviously something *FEELS* wrong!

I also noticed simular things with programs such as sendmail.

This is NOT a memory problem. I currently have 40 MB, and 90 MB of swap.
I have never seen the swap used.

vmstat shows that the system is mostly idle (usually 95% +).

Can someone give me clues what to look at?
